The Department of Computer Science at the Asutosh College, Kolkata was formed in 1995. The first undergraduate batch in honours degree admitted in the year 2001.

Currently the department has above 200 undergraduate students in Three Years B.Sc Honours course (Part-I,II & III) and above 230 undergraduate students in Three Years B.Sc. General/Honours Course (Part-I,II & III)with Computer Science as a subject

Since its inception, the department has always been recognized all over Kolkata for excellence in result. The Department provides an outstanding complemented by superior teaching for its students to flourish in. Graduates from the department are heavily recruited by IT companies.
